Eggless Sooji Cake/Rava Cake Recipe for Kids

A simple and a healthy cake to introduce your kiddo to the world of cakes and cookies. This is a Kids friendly Eggless Sooji Cake/Rava Cake/Semolina Cake without maida and ghee replacing butter.

It can be done with the simple home ingredients which is easily available in your kitchen pantry.

Editors Note – When Kanika sent the recipe, my sweet tooth started craving to eat this one 😉 so I tried out this cake immediately, and mmmm Heavenly taste… my kids too loved it…Do try it for your little one 🙂

How to make Sooji Cake / Rava Cake for Kids?

Ingredients

Method

1. In a bowl mix suji and powdered sugar together well.
2.Add curd and then milk, mix properly.
3. Add Ghee and mix well.

4. Add baking powder and vanilla essence.

5. Mix all the ingredients together well.
6. Add dryfruits and mix well.

7. Pour the batter in a greased tin.

8. Garnish with almond silvers.

9. Preheat the oven at 180 degree.

10.Bake in the oven at 180deg.

11. Bake till the cake slightly browns in the corners.

See notes for modification of the recipe for babies less than 1 year.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup suji
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Vanilla essence few drops
  • A handful of dry fruits chopped(raisins,cashew nuts,almonds,walnuts)
  • Almond silvers for garnish
METHOD
  1. In a bowl mix suji and powdered sugar together well.
  2. Add curd and then milk, mix properly.
  3. Now add ghee and mix.
  4. Add baking soda and vanilla essence.
  5. Mix all the ingredients well
  6. Add dryfruits.
  7. Pour the batter in a greased tin.
  8. Garnish with almond silvers.
  9. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
  10. Bake in the oven at 180deg.
  11. Bake till the edges start to brown and a tooth pick comes clean
NOTES
* Adjust the sweetness according to your taste.
* Keep watching the oven while it cooks as if it becomes very brown then there will be a bitter taste, when the cake turns into a light golden brown, remove from oven and let it cool.
*For babies less than 1 year, can substitute eno for baking powder and skip vanilla essence.
* For babies less than 1 year, instead of sugar mishri sugar or jaggery can be added
