Can I give my Baby Pomegranate Juice ?

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends exclusive breast feeding for the first 6 months of infants and limited amount of juice after 6 months and till 1 year.

Ideally whole fruit is always preferred over fruit juice, since pomegranate cannot be given to babies in fear of choking hazard, pomegranate can be given as juice.

As per AAP recommendation, fruit juices can be given after 6 months

Ingredients

Half Medium sized Pomegranate

Method

1. Cut the pomegranate into half.

2. With a help of wooden spatula tap over the pomegranate to spill the pearls.

3. Blend the pomegranate pearls in a blender or Mixer

4. Sieve the blended juice through a fine siever.

5. The juice can be given as such to the baby without adding sugar.

6. Always give the juice in a cup or sipper, never use bottles for feeding juice for baby.
