Pearl Millet or Bajra is a very healthy millet and can be added to your baby’s diet in the form of porridge. Millet Porridges are generally easy to make, adding fruit or vegetable makes it filling and nutritious. Here we’ve opted for beetroots to make a gorgeous looking Beetroot Pearl Millet Porridge for Babies. The porridge can be given to babies after 8 months of age, once a week. You can use any vegetable you like, but the beets add a bright pink pretty color!
Beetroot Pearl Millet Porridge for Babies
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoon pearl millet flour
- 2 cups water
- ¼ cup beetroot juice
- Pinch of Cinnamon powder
Method:
1. Add all the ingredients to a sauce pan.
2. Whisk to get a lump free mix.
3. Cook the mix on low to medium flame for about 7-10 minutes or until done, stirring continuously.
4. Flavor the porridge with Cinnamon powder and serve warm.
The beetroot pearl millet porridge thickens further on cooling, so turn off the gas in time. If the porridge becomes too thick, add a little boiled water and mix well before serving to the baby. Just the color is going to attract baby to her new porridge!
